Milan Fashion Week 2023

The new edition of Milan Fashion Week presents new spring / summer 2023 proposals in a week from September 20 to 26, with guests and attendees both in person and virtually in shows and unique performances that show new experiences around fashion.

Let’s see some of the designers and catwalks with their proposals in this Milan Fashion Week 2023:

  1. Bottega Veneta

Inspiring and driving the possibilities and themes of leather for which the fashion house is famous, and with an emphasis on craftsmanship, it had very novel fabrications such as Venini flowers turned into multidimensional skirts and dresses, which cemented this brand as the one to beat, being a total success.

  1. Gucci

One of the most recognized brands and fashion houses, Alessandro Michele based his collection, Twinsburg, on the magic of twins, where on the runway they modeled 68 identical twins, explaining later that the concept of this catwalk was about the identity “the same clothes emanate different qualities on seemingly identical bodies”. Also, he added in some designs Gremlins peeking out of bags and pockets, which highlighted the duality of personality.

  1. Fendi

Another well-known brand, “because the Fendi women are strong with full, busy lives”, was the motto used by Kim Jones for her show, based on styles with champagne satin cargo pants, neoprene tanks, slips with mesh overlays, and rubber wedges together wearing kimono tailoring complete with obi belts, they were part of his haute couture collection on the runways.

  1. Moschino

On this occasion, what seemed to be a characteristic boxy suit was soon revealed with pockets and inflatable heart-shaped snaps, making the collection everything inflatable, from hats, shoes, bracelets, among other items of clothing included for the runway. “We must be cognisant of what’s happening around us, yet we must also hold space for joy.”

  1. Prada

Using satin slips, sheer skirts, and nightgown-inspired silhouettes, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons wanted to capture the sweet spot between opposing forces, with clothes that were clingy, bunched, gathered, and seemingly ripped, giving them a look that Prada said: “a touch of the crude, a rawness that evokes a fragility”.

  1. Versace

With Paris Hilton on the runway as a “dark gothic goddess”, Versace wore skin tight black dresses, corsets and tasselled leather tops, which were paired with pink satin cargo pants, with the attitude Donatella demands “I have always loved a rebel. A woman who is confident, smart and a little bit of a diva. She wears leather, studs and frayed denim and she has enough attitude to mix them with chiffon, jersey, and a tiara!”
